Self-Care Sunday
Happy Self Care Sunday! My favorite day of the week!
Sunday's are so precious; it's my day to RELAX! My week can get pretty hectic with work, training for the LA marathon, and studying for my GMAT. Life can easily just pass by if you don't take time for yourself every once in a while.
Self-care has never really been my thing. Don't get me wrong, I shower and brush my teeth everyday lol but I never took time to take care of myself mentally. Life becomes crazy at times and you need an escape to keep you sane!
Every Sunday I make sure to practice my self-care routine. I wake up early Sunday morning and attend 7:30am mass. Call me crazy, but waking up early when no one else is up and the streets are empty on my drive to Church is pure bliss. It's just me, the beautiful morning sky, and silence. After my time with God, I go to Starbucks where I read a book (currently reading: Make it Happen by Lara Casey) and treat myself to my favorite drink: Grande Soy Chai, No Water. Such a peaceful morning.
My Sunday afternoons consists of studying, laundry, and cooking. Which may seem boring, but months ago I couldn't get myself out of bed to do these things so I'm grateful for my progress. I also take time out of the day to pamper myself with face and hair masks. The little things can make you feel so much better! I usually end my day catching up on all my shows from the week and go to bed early. A Sunday well spent brings a week of content!
Now, not every Sunday is exactly like this. I'll go on a nice hike in the morning if the weather is nice, go to breakfast with a friend, or run errands. Life happens, sometimes I don't have control over the day. But I always find time for myself, even if it's for a split second.
Self-Care Sunday is about taking time for yourself to do something you love, that inspires you and makes you genuinely happy. Take the time for self-care! It's so important for your well-being. You matter!
